The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in the Philippines has established general and minimum qualifications for applicants seeking to become part of the organization.

General qualifications require an applicant to be a citizen of the Republic of the Philippines, possess good moral character, pass a neuro-psychiatric evaluation, medical examination, and drug test, not have been dishonorably discharged from previous employment, and not have a conviction for an offense or crime involving moral turpitude.

The minimum qualifications require a male or female Filipino citizen aged between 21 and 30 years, with a minimum height of 1.57 meters for males and 1.52 meters for females, and a weight that is not more or less than five (5) kilograms from the standard weight corresponding to their height, age, and sex.

Additionally, an applicant must have a Baccalaureate degree from a recognized institute of learning and possess Civil Service Commission (CSC) 2nd level eligibilities, which include RA 1080, FOE, or PD 907 eligibility.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and in compliance with IATF-MEID protocols, interested applicants for the position of Fire Officer 1 (FO1) in the BFP Region 7 in the Philippines are required to register online through the link provided (https://bfpr7.com).

Applicants are also required to submit a hard copy of their application folders to their respective provincial offices for Bohol, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor, or to Lapu-Lapu City Fire District for applicants from Lapu-Lapu City, and directly to BFP RO7 Attn: Regional Admin Division Office for Cebu province applicants. The submission of application folders will be accepted from 11 April 2022 until 24 April 2023.

The documentary requirements for the application folder include an application letter addressed to CSUPT ROBERTO M GENAVE, DSC, Regional Director, BFP Region 7, an authenticated copy of the Service Record (for former government employees), and one (1) handwritten Personal Data Sheet (PDS) – (CSC Form 212 Revised 2017) printed in black and signed with blue ink pen.

Additionally, applicants are required to submit three (3) authenticated copies of Transcript of Records and College Diploma, as well as three (3) authenticated copies of Second Level Eligibility from CSC/PRC (PRC ID and Board Rating). Applicants must also provide three (3) original copies of the Certificate of Live Birth, and three (3) original copies of the Certificate of Marriage and Birth Certificate of dependents (if applicable) issued by PSA.

Moreover, applicants must submit original or authenticated copies of recent clearances from Barangay, National Police, Mayor, NBI, RTC, and MTC, as well as an authenticated Certificate of Waiver (for applicants with age and/or height deficiency/ies). A photocopy of the Philhealth Card, Pag-IBIG Card, Tax Identification, LTO, Professional driver’s License, and NC II or NC III certification for driving from TESDA (if any) should also be included.

Applicants are also required to secure a copy of their ECG result with interpretation and serum pregnancy test result (for females) to be sent to bfphealthservice7@gmail.com. Incomplete applications will not be entertained, and if the applicant fails the initial screening, their application will be denied.
